Find Family

I am researching the following surnames from my family, BRIGGS, CUNNINGHAM, HANCE, CRONINGER, and MCCLAIN. These families are all from the Ohio area, although they originated in Pennsylvania, Kentucky and Virginia before settling in Ohio. Thanks to the work of my late Grandfather Cunningham and with the help of a few generous fellow genealogists, I have accumulated quite a bit of information on the CUNNINGHAM, BRIGGS and CRONINGER families which can be found on the reports listed below.
I am also researching SKERRY (Originally Scarry), KEILTY, KILLEEN, CONNOLY, AND MANNING (Originally Mannion) on my husband's side of the family. These families were all orginally from Ireland and immigrated to the Boston, Massachusetts area in the early 1900's.

Please feel free to contact me should you have any information to share or if I may have something to help you in your search for family history.

  • Rev. James Cunningham (1772-1857) (163 KB)
Rev. James Cunningham was my great, great, great grandfather. He was a dedicated presbyterian minister in Pennsylvania and Ohio. At the risk of raising his ire from the great beyond, I'm really glad no one from my immediate family resembles him. For a bio of "the Rev" see my report Descendants of Patrick Cunningham.
  • Dewitt Clinton Cunningham (1853-1927). (291 KB)
My great grandfather D.C. Cunningham, a State Senator and newspaper editor.
  • Martha Belle McClain (1863-1901) (272 KB)
Martha Belle McClain Cunningham, my great grandmother and Dewitt Clinton Cunningham's wife.
  • Seymour Oristus Croninger (201 KB)
My great grandfather on the Croninger side, Seymour Oristus Croninger(1870-1938).
  • Emma Mazy c. 1889 (34 KB)
Emma Mazy Croninger (1869-1903), my great grandmother and Seymour Croninger's wife. Emma is my "brick wall", I haven't been able to find anything on her family, not even parents or siblings. If there are any MAZYs out there, please help!
  • Dewitt Guy Cunningham and Pearl Frances Croninger (256 KB)
My grandparents Dewitt Guy and Pearl Cunningham. This is their wedding portrait from 1920. My grandfather Cunningham first started researching the family history back in the 70's. Hope he's looking down and smiling.
